Mendenhall2015

I will be performing with musicians from the Waldorf School of Lexington this Saturday March 7 at 7:00 at our annual Mendenhall Benefit Concert. This concert is the single fundraiser for the school’s music scholarship, which provides funding for private music lessons, and commemorates former music director Robert Mendenhall. The Waldorf School, where I teach private lessons after school and where my son goes to school, has a rich community of musicians on the faculty and also in the parent community.

This concert is always diverse and satisfying. This year, in addition to playing in the orchestral accompaniment to music of Bach, Telemann, and Weber, I will be creating string accompaniment for compositions of Maurice Duruflé, and Kosaku Yamada. We will be joined by WSL alumnae Jenna Calabro and Natalie Zemba, and by special guest mezzo-soprano Joanna Porackova. To close the concert, I will play in a short Klezmer set with clarinetist and Waldorf wind faculty Glenn Dickson and accordionist Michael McLaughlin.
